Jewels
Here is a collection of my favourite jewellers at the moment- I hate the cheap rip off shops mass producing tacky reproductions of things. Nothing compares to the real thing.
Isaac Ibbotson is a jeweller from Nelson, New Zealand. He works mostly with silver, gold and native woods. http://www.quoil.co.nz/artists/isaac_ibbotson/
This clever jeweller created the ring from The Lord of the Rings but have many other wonderful pieces. Incredible craftmanship. www.jenshansen.com
Dan Kemp is a jeweller from Ames, Iowa, USA. He creates elaborate gorgeous pieces from mostly recycled products- a true bricoleur. http://www.etsy.com/people/dankartistry?ref=ls_profile
Wellington, New Zealand (now based in New York) jewellers D_Luxe make beautiful crafted rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. They are getting a lot of coverage later which is well deserved.

The Eastern
This is one of my favourite bands. They are amazing live. Adam McGrath and Jesse Shanks joined by various others from Lyttelton just out of Christchurch, New Zealand. This place has had a horrendous time of late with a terrible earthquake and they are back and performing already! Please support their music. They have a few albums / EPs out: 'Oh, Mystery', 'The Eastern' and 'Arrows'.
Sweet rocking hillbilly, country, stonking, whiskey drinking amazingness....

Artist
“I’ve always been interested in how an object can be remembered and how that memory can be sustained and directed sculpturally, pulling things in and out of time, passing objects through the studio as a kind of filter returning them as new forms.” – Ricky Swallow
Fabulous Australian artist looks at re-inventing forms and the manner in which we engage with them.

Day-Dream Places
I have so many places I want to live and find that I often spend a large proportion of my day dreaming about them. An alleyway cafe in Croatia with fresh coffee and flower pots, a balcony apartment in Paris, a work studio with brick walls in New York, a house boat in Amsterdam, a fishing cottage in Iceland, a woodland hut in Alaska. Oh I have so many! Where do you day-dream of?

I just love the whimsical and delicate work of this talented Melbourne artist. I own a few of her prints and just can't get enough. Her work is available for purchase through

Adventure
Over summer my boyfriend and I packed up our little car and went on an adventure. We had food and supplies, a few address of people to stay with and no set plans. It was glorious freedom for two weeks. We found the most delicious little camping spots, met lovely, generous people and explored the untrampled paths of the countryside. I love my sense of adventure and finding new places in the world. Travel doesn't have to be to exotic locations though- all adventures start with walking out of the garden gate.
